Dr. Nick Fourie

Dr. Nick FourieUNIQUE PERSPECTIVE
As a competitive sports player for the past thirty years, Dr. Nick Fourie understands injury not only as a trained and experienced healer but also as a patient (athlete).

BORN TO HEAL
Dr. Nick Fourie was born in South Africa into a family focused on health and fitness. His father owns a health club and has been a trainer all his life. Nick grew up around a lifestyle of being fit, eating well, and competing in sports, including rugby, swimming, and track. In South Africa he recieved provincial colors (All state) in swimming, track, and rugby. Sport and excercise has and will always be a part of his life.

HANDS-ON APPROACH
In the world of chiropractic, there are many methodologies. At Active Life Wellness, we have doctors who each embrace some part of that range. Dr. Nick is an expert "Full Spine Manual Adjuster".

You can learn more here (coming soon) about the various methodologies and which of our doctors use which ones.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Nick received a full sport rugby scholarship from the Life Chiropractic College in Atlanta. At Life Chiropractic College he voluntered in the training room to treat various injuries on basketball, hockey, rugby, soccer, and track.

Dr. Nick graduated in 2002 and opened up a practice in Pennsylvania. He felt there was someting more he needed to do for patients with complicated low back problems, disc problems, sciatica, or radiating pain down the leg. There had to be an alternative to extremely invasive low back surgery, which lots of times do not have the desired results. After intensive research, and having experienced the good results of using the decompression table on himself, Dr. Nick decided to purchase this equipment. The results have been phenomenal. The idea and treatment makes a lot of sense. The decompression of the spine reverses the degeneration process of the spine, and relieves pain and discomfort dramatically.

AUSTIN CALLS
The cold weather in PA was getting to be too much. Dr. Nick started researching "Best Places To Live" and Austin came up all the time. One visit and he fell in love with Austin. On the second visit he ran in the "Austin Human Race" downtown. He was impressed with the fitness and activity level of Austin as well as how friendly people are here. Throw in the Greenbelt, Austin Lake, Zilker Park, and the decision was made: "This is where I want to live!"

ALWAYS AN ATHELETE
Nick keeps himself active today by running, cycling, mountain biking, canoeing, waterskiing, wakeboarding, snow skiing, snow boarding, going to the gym, and recently took a kite surfing course.
